Charity Luncheon

Date of Post 04/03/08 Category of Post Press/Media Release

Through Central Singapore CDC and Yong-En Care Centre, we hosted a Charity Steamboat Luncheon for about 120 elderly residing in Chinatown (mostly are Samsui women and Ma Jie who have no family and are living alone - Mostly are in their 80s and some are in their 90s.) on the 8th March 2008 (Sat) from 2.00pm till 4.30pm.

We activated about 20 volunteers (Including Professionals like – Lawyers, Doctors, Managing Directors, Business Owners, Bankers, University Lecturers, etc) to play host for the event for the elderly as the main objective of the event is mainly to share love and provide warmth & joy to them, in celebration of International Women’s Day 2008. At the same time, our volunteers also forged bonding with the elderly too.

Some of the Volunteers even ferried them (those on wheelchair) to and fro from their home at Blk 5, Banda Street to the restaurant in their own private vehicles.

We strongly believe that “Service to Humanity is the Best work of Life” and we are never too busy to take some time off to help the less fortunate and share our love, regardless of your positions.

This Steamboat Luncheon was proudly sponsored by Guo Fu Restaurant located at China Square Central 22 Cross Street #01-50 Singapore 048422 (Next to Great Eastern Insurance Building), where this Charity Luncheon was held.

Each of the Elderly also received a stalk of rose each, with courtesy from FUN Florist. It's such a meaningful and wonderful way to celebrate International Women's Day 2008!
